WoW Classic Players abuse layering exploit and earn up to 100k gold

World of Warcraft Classic players have found an exploit using layering to get an insane amount of gold and all the items they need from bosses, to get pre raid BIS already. Reddit user Odelschwank posted on the forums that he and his party found a way to reset the instance, while staying in the same place using layering. By doing this, they were able to do bosses over and over again in high end dungeons like Stratholme or Upper Black Rock Spire.

The post has since been removed from the website and Blizzard is hard at work keeping the exploit out of the eyes of their player base. We have found a source on how to duplicate the exploit, but will not be sharing it here. Exploiting the game is not the way to enjoy Classic, nor is it healthy for the game. Exploits like this can ruïn the economy and players becoming too strong too fast. Reports say that players using the exploit have earned up to 100k gold. The player sharing the exploit, has stated that he has enough gold too buy anything he wants in the game.

Blizzard is already taking action against players abusing the exploit. By now, the exploit should have been hotfixed by the developers and you won’t be longer to do it. You can read the Blue Post written by the community manager below.

We’ve recently become aware of a bug that could be exploited to allow instanced encounters to be completed repeatedly. We have developed a fix for the issue, and we are in the process of deploying it worldwide.

Realm restarts are scheduled for 3:00 a.m. PDT (6:00 a.m. EDT) in order to apply this fix.

As soon as possible, we will identify those who knowingly abused this bug in exploitative manner. We will then take appropriate punitive measures.

As a reminder, Blizzard’s End User License Agreement defines cheats as “methods not expressly authorized by Blizzard, influencing and/or facilitating the gameplay, including exploits of any in-game bugs, and thereby granting you and/or any other user an advantage over other players not using such methods.”

As always, thank you for your feedback on this matter.

We want to advice you guys to not use the exploit (if it’s still possible or not) or look for it. Blizzard will start punnishing all accounts that used it. This can result in a temporary or full ban, so beware and play the game how it is supposed to be.
